None of those would have come into existence without the entrepreneurs who founded the companies that made them happen — but they also wouldn’t have existed without the programmers, factory workers, designers, administrators and troops who went into work every day and did the best damn job they could. I like being an entrepreneur, and I’m always working on building side projects that I love.

There are a thousand different ways to be a human being. There’s no rule for living that will make everyone fulfilled, so telling people that only being an entrepreneur will make their life worthwhile is misleading, irresponsible, and frankly pretty fuck’n dumb. But I also like taking on challenging roles, joining awesome teams and collaborating.

The company, which has been notably quiet up until very recently, released a statement as part of the protest, directing readers to

“The new head of the FCC wants to undo the net neutrality protections you fought so hard for,” Tumblr’s statement reads.

The general point of that post was that the reason people use adblockers generally is that sites like Forbes serve up annoying, irritating, horrible ads, such that the question of whether the site's content is worth the hassle of enduring those ads becomes a legitimate one. One security researcher discusses his attempt to read a Forbes article, complete with the request to disable his adblocking software, and the resulting malware he encountered as a result.

The moment that question becomes relevant, it should be obvious that the problem is the ad inventory and not the adblocking software. Ironically, the Forbes article in question was its notable "30 Under 30" list, and the researcher wanted to check out the inclusion of a rather well-known security researcher.

AT&T has said it is “joining” the protest, despite being against the FCC’s net neutrality rules, and itself being a major target of the protest.

Verizon released a statement today saying it applauds “their passion” but asks Congress to take action instead. The company’s CEO, Blake Irving, released a statement on the company’s homepage.

(Words to song, here.) An Australian gambling-related web site says, "the Western worlds game of put-and-take [is] rarely encountered since the 1930s. While the usual Crown and Anchor game consists of three dice, each of which has a crown, anchor, heart, spade, diamond and club on each of the six sides, this Crown & Anchor spinner has three levels, each of which has those same six sides. The sides of the three hexagons are marked in gold with X, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1. The seller in the US (November 2013) says, "This is an old game with a new twist as well. The original has the six horses names and the newer version has the four playing card suits Spade-Diamond-Heart Club as well as Joker and Ace. Likewise with the "puts." So it would work this way, using the top on the left as an example (the one where the left bottom of the "T2" face is shaved some): if you spun the top clockwise (as a right handed person ordinarily would), it would more often land on the "put" side because if the top slowed down near the "T2" side, it would continue past the extra rounded (shaved) edge and land on the adjoining Put side (or as the Instructions put it more simply: "When spun to the right, a Put will show....."). The dealer describes these as: "Up for auction is a very high quality machined aluminum anodized Put and Take GAMENUT Dreidel dice/die.
